About

I’ve always had an interest in what’s ”out there” even as a child, I would always explore areas I thought were undiscovered and came back with at least one frog friend to introduce to the family, needless to say my parents weren’t too thrilled when they would find frogs in their slippers in the mornings.

I was always exposed to a multitude of different cultures being born in South Africa and having a German father and a Zulu mother. Which has always made me wonder what draws so many people from all walks of life to Africa.

I found for me it’s the people that all somehow feel like family, the animals from the small antlions to gigantic elephants have an incredibly unique way of living their lives. Plants are not only beautiful but also crucial as food source… and of course the breath-taking landscapes from the coast of the Indian Ocean, the deserts of Namibia to the mountainous Drakensberg… just in the south alone.

I started training to be a guide directly after I matriculated but it wasn’t planned. Guiding found me when I was looking to enter the tourism industry but wasn’t too keen on working in the office.

But I started working in the office of a tour operator, however, as soon as I got on the road for my first tour, I found that I couldn’t sit still and have been touring ever since. My absolute favourite tours are those with a mix of hiking, cycling and safari. Where I am pushed to my limit and no two days are the same.
